Ruben joined Meridian in spring 2020 as a partner and financial advisor with the Tucson, AZ branch. He grew up in Williams, AZ but made Tucson his home after graduating from the University of Arizona in 1969 from the Eller Business School. Ruben started his career in the financial industry in 1970 as a stockbroker at the first Dean Witter office in Tucson.
Over the last 50 years, he has built long-lasting and trusted relationships with his many clients, priding himself on a dedication to client-focused rapport. He is a strong proponent of community and family. Ruben’s experience is vast and diverse. He adds a level of professionalism and quality to our business that can only be gained through the many decades he has spent in the financial industry.
Ruben is the father of six children, three of whom have followed in his footsteps and built careers in the financial industry. In 2007, he partnered with his daughter, Natalie Fernandez Lee, to create a long-term succession plan and trusted relationship for the generations of clients they work with.
In his younger years, Ruben devoted much time to the Tucson community. He helped start the Ft Lowell Shootout, spent countless years coaching youth sports, served as President of the Ft Lowell Soccer Club and was on the Board of Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Outside of the office, Ruben enjoys spending time with his wife, six children, and 16 grandchildren, doing yard work and traveling the world.
